It is no longer news that Windows 11 is here to stay. Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 will launch on October 5, 2021, on existing PCs that are eligible for Windows 11 and be on sale for new PCs with Windows 11 pre-installed.

There are a few things to note about the Windows 11 rollout.

Windows 11 rollout will take a phased approach Microsoft says. Starting from the release date till mid-2022, the company plans to use “intelligence models that consider hardware eligibility, reliability, metrics, age of the device and other factors” in the roll. This suggests many people won’t see the upgrade being offered to them immediately.

The ability to get Android apps via the Microsoft Store as announced during the Windows 11 unveiling event, won’t be available with the roll-out until 2022. There will be a preview of this feature with Insiders over the coming months. Work is currently on with Amazon and Intel on developing an android subsystem for windows for this feature to work.

Features just like the new Start menu and Taskbar experiences, in-box apps designs, fluid animations, Windows Widgets, Teams Chat, new Microsoft Store, and far more are going to be available during the roll-out in October.
